Keynote address by Rev Dr Johnston McMaster on the theme of ‘The challenges of ethically remembering 1918–1922’. The speech was delivered at the launch event of the project ‘Belfast and the World 198–1921: Marking a decade of centenaries’. The project is being delivered by Corrymeela on behalf of Belfast City Council as part of their PEACE IV Plan, which is funded by the European Union and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.

Joined Up: Developing Good Relations in the School Community
This resource was produced jointly by Corrymeela and the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education and was authored by Mary Potter and Nicola Lynagh. The resource was written in 2003 and was specifically developed to
provide more training and support to student teachers, teachers, school senior managers and others involved in education, enabling them to feel more confident in exploring controversial issues with their colleagues or pupils, particularly those relating to identity, diversity and conflict, and to create an appropriate context for this work.

Bystanding and conflict in Northern Ireland is a filmed collection of six true stories about individuals wrestling with how to behave and act when confronted with sectarianism, violence and prejudice.
The stories range over a 30year period (1972 – 2002) and offer a fresh take on the options available for people during the Northern Ireland Troubles and post–ceasefire.

Primarily designed to support educators and young people to link the lessons of the past to the choices individuals make today, ‘Upstanding: Stories of Courage from Northern Ireland’ is a 45 minute DVD exploring 10 diverse case studies from all over Northern Ireland showing how people stood up to violence, discrimination or prejudice.
