Over the last few months, we have adapted and developed so that we can continue to support some of the most vulnerable communities in Northern Ireland whose mental health and wellbeing has worsened during this time.

Prior to lockdown we were working with a group of vulnerable women in Magherafelt, who are refugee and asylum seekers, supporting them to integrate into the local community. With assistance from Denise, Corrymeela’s Marginalisation Manager, 2 sisters Olive and Veronica have given tirelessly of their time to support this group of women, in spite of age, religious and cultural differences.

Olive and Veronica’s unwavering commitment has shone through during these recent, difficult few months, when many of these women have become more withdrawn due to increased levels of anxiety and depression.

Many have also lost some of their newly acquired English language skills as a result of not using it for long periods of time over lockdown.

That is why we would like to ask you, if you would consider helping us through this incredibly difficult period by giving a gift of £25 today. This could provide craft materials for a group, helping them bond together and improve their confidence and well–being.

As we move to come out of lockdown we are keen to support even more groups like Olive’s to survive this crisis and thrive in the future. Now more than ever, we believe that Together is better.
